RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- The Concordia University Chicago women's tennis team returned to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday morning, welcoming the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks to River Forest. The Cougars battled the Scarlet Hawks close, but ultimately would fall 6-3.

The Cougars picked up their first point of the day at number two doubles. Ali Wingood and Jessica Parker downed their opponents 8-1.

CUC continued to battle back during singles play, with Parker winning a long two set match 7-6 (5) 7-6 (1). Alexa Hoover was not far behind, winning her match 2-6 6-4 6-4.

Concordia tried to rally further, but the Cougars were unable to pick up critical points down the stretch, falling in the final deciding matches of the day.

CUC takes a break from NACC play on Sunday, when the team travels to Iowa to take on Cornell College. Opening serve is set for 12:00pm.
