RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- The Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team continued Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday afternoon, playing host to the St. Norbert Green Knights. CUC created offensive opportunities, but were unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to St. Norbert. Prior to the match the Cougars honored the 2022-23 senior class.
It was a physical battle throughout the first half between the Cougars and the Green Knights. The two sides combined to take 21 shots in the first 45 minutes, with five being on net. The lone goal of the half came in the 33
rd minute for St. Norbert. Mallory Names crossed a ball to the top of the six yard box, where Haley Leadingham headed in her fourth goal of the season just inside the right post.
The Cougars created their best chances of the match in the 78
th minute.
Allie Brown had two shots on net, the first being a fingertip save, the second being saved by a St. Norbert defender just inches from being a goal.
