MADISON, WIS — Traveling to Madison, Wisconsin, the Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team faced off against Edgewood College. This Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matchup would ultimately result in a loss for the Cougars, 0-4.
The Cougars started the offensive pursuit immediately as Jordyn Gosell (Antioch, Ill.) came in with a shot on goal. She was able to find a spot in the bottom center of the goal, but not before Edgewood's goalie, Hailey Corcoran, came in for the save.
As the two teams battled back and forth, Jamie Seibert (Arlington Heights, Ill.) was able to find some room to attempt a goal. However, this was unfortunately stopped again by the Eagles. With the momentum on their side, Edgewood was able to score their first goal of the match and go up, 0-1.
Seibert continued to push for a goal, aiming for a center shot on the net, but was again stopped by the Eagles goalie. The Cougars were able to get out of the half with minimal damage, but the Eagles came back fired up.
After a couple of attempts from Edgewood and multiple saves from Kassie Silenzi (Carpentersville, Ill.), the Eagles were able to produce two back-to-back goals, going up 0-3. In the 79th minute of play, another goal was scored by Edgewood, ending this game with a score of 0-4.
The Cougars will be hosting at home this week on Wednesday as they take on Aurora University. This conference match-up is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start. You can find links to coverage at cucougars.com/coverage.
