MADISON, Wis. --- The Concordia University Chicago men's soccer team hit the road for the first time in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars outshot Edgewood College on the day, but the Eagles were the only ones to find the back of the net, downing CUC 1-0.
CUC came out in the opening minutes on the offensive.
Austin Montejano and
Oscar Montejano both ripped off shots in the first five minutes that nearly gave the Cougars an early lead. O. Montejano put another on net in the 10
th minute, but Edgewood was able to keep the score level at zero.
In total CUC outshot Edgewood 13-2 in the first half, with six of those shots being saved.
Edgewood put just one shot on the net all day, and it was Elliah Tameklo in the 76
th minute finishing off the feed from Austin Hauser for what proved to be the game winning-goal.
Concordia will continue NACC play on Wednesday night when the team heads to Montgomery, Ill. for a 7:00pm kickoff against Aurora University. Links to coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
