WISCONSIN -- The Concordia University Chicago women's tennis team took on two conference matchups at Marian University and Concordia University Wisconsin, falling in both.
In the opening matchup against Marian, the Cougars fell with a score of 6-2. Fresh off her NACC Athlete of the Week accolades, Heidi Hesse (La Crau, France) stepped up for the Cougars as she won in her singles match as well as her doubles alongside partner Jessica Parker (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) with a score of 8-3.
In the singles, Hesse put up the only win for the Cougars after closing her matches 6-1 and 6-4. Kamila Giza (East Dundee, Ill.) lost both her matches, including a tough first match by a score of 4-6 while Parker fell in both her matches with a score 6-3 and 6-4.
During the second match of the day against Concordia-Wisconsin, the Cougars fell by a score of 8-1. The duo of Ali Wingood (Chicago, Ill.) and Parker put up the only win for the Cougars during the match after taking the win in their doubles 8-5. Working through the singles, Hesse battled in three matches after taking the first 7-5 but falling in the final two 1-6 and 5-10.
