TOLEDO, Ohio --- Competing at the 2022 Division III STUNT National Championships, the Concordia University Chicago STUNT team went 1-1 on the day on the national stage. CUC dropped the opening contest of the day to #2 Hiram College 18-8. They then recovered in an elimination contest just a few hours later, defeating Olivet 14-2 to move onto the semifinals tomorrow.

In the opening round game with Hiram, CUC found themselves behind early, with Hiram taking the first four points. CUC picked up their first point of the day on the second routine of the second quarter. CUC tried to mount a comeback, getting a point on the first routine of the third quarter. Concordia was able to earn five points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough, falling to Hiram 18-8.

In the elimination game against Olivet, CUC was able to come out and execute routine three to open the first quarter to take the lead. CUC continued their run with solid execution of routine two to take a 2-0 lead before a timeout. Concordia didn't stop there, taking the final two points of the first quarter. Olivet got their first point of the game to open the second quarter, but CUC had the answer by outperforming Olivet in routine one. The Cougars took a 5-1 lead into the half.

CUC continued to add to their lead in the third. They were able to score two points, while Olivet was unable to earn a point, allowing the Cougars to extend their lead to 7-1. Concordia opened the fourth quarter by sweeping the points on routine two. From there CUC didn't look back, defeating Olivet by a 14-2 final score.

With the win, CUC moves onto the semifinals tomorrow morning against Hiram. It will be an elimination contest, with the winner of the contest moving on to the national championship against Olivet.
