RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- Extending their winning streak to five games, the Concordia University Chicago women's lacrosse team routed the Edgewood College Eagles on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars used six different goal scorers to down the Eagles by a final score of 13-3. Prior to the match CUC honored the team's three seniors,
Elizabeth Cyrwus,
Emily Cyrwus, and
Sarah Ludwig.

- With the win CUC locks up a first round home NACC playoff game on May 3rd.
- CUC will now play for the NACC regular season title on Wednesday night at Aurora.
- El. Cyrwus reached 100 career goals with her third goal of the match which came late in the first quarter.
CUC wasted no time getting the scoring going for the day.
Rylee Orenstein worked her way through a couple of defenders to net her 25
th goal of the season to give CUC a 1-0 lead. The Cougars then made it 2-0 then 3-0 when El. Cyrwus netted two unassisted goals of her own.
Nina Naes got in on the scoring action with 2:05 remaining in the first, taking a perfect pass from Orenstein and finishing it off over the Edgewood keeper.El. Cyrwus then netted her 100
th career goal just over a minute later, taking a pass from
Sabra Brouillet and finding the back of the goal. That goal made it 5-0 CUC after one.
Edgewood pulled back into the game early in the second, scoring two goals in just over 30 seconds to cut the CUC lead to 5-2. That score would hold until after halftime.
CUC came out firing to start the third quarter.
Grace Miller netted her first of the match with 12:52 to go in the quarter to make it 6-2 CUC. Em. Cyrwus then made it 7-2 by scoring an unassisted player down goal.
After Edgewood got one final goal in the third, CUC ripped off a near flawless fourth quarter by outscoring Edgewood 6-0. Miller, Orenstein, Naes and
Kelli Pietrowski all netted goals during the run.
The Cougars will now ready to play for the NACC regular season title on Wednesday evening at Aurora. Opening draw is set for 4:00pm. You can find links to coverage at cucougars.com/coverage.
