River Forest, Ill. – For their final home games of the season, the Concordia University Chicago STUNT team split the day with Hiram College.
GAME ONE
After falling behind early in game one, the Cougars took possession in the opening routine of the third quarter where they started their climb back. Executing routine one to win the point, the Cougars closed the gap and cut the Terriers lead 8-6 heading into the fourth quarter.
In a competitive fourth quarter, both teams battled for possession as the Cougars were able to gain two points on the opening routine. From there, they went on to gain another two in the following routine before taking a timeout to regroup as they made their push into the final routine.
Tying the first point, followed by winning the next two resulted in the Cougars pulling ahead for an exciting 13-12 point win.
GAME TWO
With Hiram winning the opening point of game two, the Cougars were forced to battle back immediately. Performing routine five for the second point of the day, the Cougars were able to tie the score quickly before taking the lead immediately after. The Cougars led the Terriers 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, but were unable to score in the second quarter allowing Hiram to take the lead 4-3 heading into halftime.
As Hiram carried the momentum into the second half, the Cougars quickly fell behind 5-3 before fighting back. A successfully performed routine two would give the Cougars possession back as they inched closer at a 6-5 score.
Heading into the fourth quarter, the Cougars had to fight a deficit much like the did in the first game of the day. As they were only able to score one point in the fourth quarter, the Cougars fell to the Terriers 6-10.
