- Virgilio Rodriguez (Cicero, Ill.) grabbed eight assists while Holubek grabbed seven.

The Banana Slugs took the first three points of the set before back to back kills from Holubek and Rodgriguez created a one point difference. The Cougars were able to jump out to a two point lead after a block from
David Vales (Oak Forest, Ill.) and
Ricardo Ruiz (Lynwood, Ill.) was followed by a Holubek kill. Going point for point with the Banana Slugs for the early half of the second set, a large run set them behind. Falling behind five points, the Cougars were forced to take another timeout to regroup. The Cougars fell in the second set 25-15.
After the Banana Slugs dominated the third set, the Cougars closed the match 3-0. They'll be back in action tomorrow as they host Aurora University and California Lutheran at 3 and 7:00 pm.
