RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- Continuing their first-ever homestand, the Concordia University Chicago STUNT team welcomed the Ashland University Eagles to Geiseman Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon. CUC battled the Eagles tough, but their late comebacks in both games came up short, falling 14-9 and 17-5.

GAME ONE
In the opening game of the day, the Cougars picked up two first-half points by drawing the routine with Ashland.

After no points were awarded on the opening routine of the second half, the Cougars were able to pull within 6-3 by outperforming Ashland on routine one. CUC picked up another point in the quarter when they tied the Eagles with routine two. Ashland took the final point of the third quarter to build their lead to 8-4 after three quarters.

In the fourth, the Cougars were able to grab two of a possible three points with routine one to pull within 10-6. CUC picked up three more points in the quarter including two of three on the final routine of the game, but it was not enough, as the Eagles were able to close out the 14-9 win over CUC.

GAME TWO
The Cougars picked up a point in the opening quarter on routine one but found themselves trailing 4-1 after partner stunts. CUC opened the second quarter by taking the point on routine one. Concordia was unable to get another point on the board in the half and found themselves trailing 5-2 at the half.

Ashland opened up a lead in the third quarter. CUC tried to battle back in the fourth, earning two points on routine one to pull within 12-4. The Cougars kept fighting but ultimately fell in game
two 17-5.

The Cougars will continue their inaugural season on Saturday, April 16 when Muskingum University and Hiram College to Geiseman. Opening routines begin at 12:00 pm. You can find links to coverage at cucougars.com/coverage.
