Cyrwus Nets Six Goals In Win Over Augustana

RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- Behind six Elizabeth Cyrwus goals and a stellar defensive performance, the Concordia University Chicago Cougars women's lacrosse team picked up their second win of the season over the Augustana College Vikings by a 13-3 final score on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-         Eliz. Cyrwus led the way with six goals, the largest output of the season.
-         Emily Cyrwus dished out a season-high four assists.
-         Rylee Orenstein and Grace Miller each recorded two goals.
-         Ryan McGee picked up the win in net while notching four saves.

The Cougars found the back of the net in the opening minute of play. After taking the opening draw, Eliz. Cyrwus made a cut in front of the net and buried the opening goal of the game. CUC quickly made it 2-0 just a few minutes later when Ornstein found Eliz. Cyrwus for her second goal of the game.

After Augustana got one back, Miller netted her first goal of the season off an assist from Em. Cyrwus. Orenstein added one more goal for CUC in the quarter, giving CUC a 4-1 lead after one.
CUC built on the momentum in the second, outscoring Augustana 7-0 in the quarter. Paige Palermo helped to highlight the quarter, picking up her first goal of the season.
Both teams traded goals in the second half, with the Cougars closing out the win 13-3.
