STUNT Wins First Game Inside Geiseman

River Forest, Ill. – Continuing to pave the way for the emerging sport, the Concordia University Chicago STUNT team made its debut inside Geiseman today as they split their double header.

GAME ONE
In their first game of the day, the Cougars took on the Aquinas Saints for a 10-3 victory. This win marks the first win for the Concordia STUNT team inside their home gymnasium. The Cougars jumped to an early four point lead as they dominated the first half.

With possession coming into the second half the Cougars selected routine four, competing uncontested. After not being awarded any points, head coach Kelly Bielec challenged the decision, resulting in the loss of possession. With the Saints now choosing the routine both teams performed routine one, ending with the Saints keeping possession and closing the gap to three points.

With momentum in favor of the Saints, routine two was performed where the Cougars gained points and regained possession. They closed the third quarter with a score of 5-1.

In the fourth and final quarter, the Cougars dominated yet again grabbing a total of five points within three routines resulting in the 10-3 win.

GAME TWO
Following their victory over Aquinas the Cougars took on Central Michigan, who had already defeated Aquinas on the day as well. Central Michigan got on the board first, but not before the Cougars could tie things up after they gained possession and scored on routine four. Going back and forth with possession for the entire first half, the Cougars fell behind 5-3 going into halftime.

After the Chippewas went on a 3-0 scoring run, the Cougars were forced to take a timeout to regain momentum. Despite being down heading into the fourth quarter, the Cougars fought through and grabbed three of the final four points to be awarded. The Cougars closed the second game ultimately falling short, 16-7.

Following this doubleheader, the Concordia University Chicago STUNT team will host another doubleheader on tomorrow, Sunday March 20th, against Ashland University starting at 2 pm. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
