RIVER FOREST, ILL. — As Concordia University Chicago (CUC) Athletics transition from fall to winter season, there have been some exciting updates in Cougar play.

Football played their final home game on Saturday as they hosted the Benedictine Eagles. In this game, the Cougars were able to upset the Eagles with a win of 34-26. Also celebrating senior day, nine seniors were recognized in Jaylen Glass (Merrillville, Ind.), Justin Aduo (Grand Prairie, Texas), Eric Molina (Fort Myers, Fla.), Christian Covington (Corinth, TX), Jacob Potthoff (Woodstock, Ill.), Jelani Warner (East Chicago, Ind.), Amir Cavic (Des Plaines, Ill.), Adam Torok (Tamarac, Fla.), and Julian Ramirez (Zion, Ill.). Troy Pratley (St. Joseph, Mich.) led the Cougars offense with 42 passing yards. E'derian Sykes (Lake Village, Ark.) and Covington had 15 rushing attempts with 75-yards gained and four rushing attempts with 32-yards gained, respectively. Brandon Arredondo (Dalton, Ga.) led the defense with 11 total tackles on the day. The Cougars will be on the road for their final game of the season against St. Norbert scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

Cougar Madness was held this past Thursday to kick off the men's and women's basketball seasons. Fans had the opportunity to meet the teams, play games, and win prizes. Men's basketball opens their season at Loras on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Women's basketball will be traveling to Colorado this weekend for a lineup of non-conference battles. Starting off on Friday, they will be facing Colorado College for a 5 p.m. Mountain Time game.

Men's and women's cross country will be traveling to Geneva, Illinois for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships. They will be battling to stay in the running this season and continue their success.
