RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- The Concordia University Chicago women's volleyball team closed out the home portion of the 2022 schedule on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Edgewood College Eagles. CUC gave one of the top teams in the NACC all they could handle in each set, but ultimately would fall 3-0.

The opening set of the match featured six ties and three different lead changes. Neither side was able to get much offense going, with there being just 22 kills in the set to 17 errors. The Cougars held the lead on two different occasions in the set, but a 6-0 run for the Eagles was too much to overcome as CUC fell 25-22.
Set two was just as closely fought, with Edgewood winning the set 25-21. The offenses were much more active in set two, with CUC hitting .229 and Edgewood .216. Heywood had six kills in the set to go along with three aces. Concordia lead 19-16 late in the set, but a 9-2 run for the Eagles to close it out was the difference.
The two sided jostled for an advantage early in set three, with there being seven ties and three lead changes. Edgewood finally gained an advantage with a 4-0 run to take a 9-6 lead. The
Edgewood offense kept swinging, hitting .255 in the set, to CUC's .170. The Cougars kept the set close, but ultimately fell 25-21.
