Cougars Fall to Falcons

RIVER FOREST, ILL --  For their last home game of the season, the Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team took on the rivals of the north, Concordia University Wisconsin where they fell 3-0.

Box Score

  • The Falcons outshot the Cougars 17-4 with the Falcons recording nine shots on goal while the Cougars only snagged one.
  • Kassie Silenzi and Brooke Sheriff both made appearance in the goals with three and one save a piece, respectively.
  • Madalynn Georgopoulos recorded the only shot on goal for the Cougars.

This game was special for the Cougars as they partnered with the EISA Dynamite youth soccer team out of DeWitt, Iowa giving the youth squad the chance to walk out with the Cougars for starting lineups.

The Falcons came out of the gates feisty taking nine shots in the first half. An aggressive attack inside the box the box gave the Falcons their first opportunity to find the back of the net. As the  half wound down the Falcons picked up their second goal of the day.

After the halftime youth game, the Cougars came out looking to battle back. Intensity on the defensive end from Meagan Wilkinson-McQuaid, Allie Brown, and Lucia Fullone held the score stagnant for more than 20 minutes. The Falcons were able to slip one more goal in on the evening, while holding the Cougars scoreless.

The Cougars close their season on Wednesday down the street at Dominican for a 3:00 PM start time. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
