RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- The Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team took on the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks on Wednesday afternoon inside of Concordia Stadium on a brisk fall day. The Cougars defense held tough through most of the first half, but three late first half goals, including two in 30 seconds proved to be too much to overcome as CUC fell 4-0.
The Cougar defense was strong through the early goings, keeping the score knotted at zero.
Kassie Silenzi made three first half saves for Concordia. Illinois Tech broke the scoring open in the 30
th minute off a corner kick. The Scarlet Hawks then added two late goals in the 44
th minute to extend the lead to 3-0.
Illinois Tech then added one final goal in the 52
nd minute to lead to the 4-0 win over CUC.
Concordia will play their final home match of the 2022 season on Saturday afternoon when Concordia University Wisconsin comes to River Forest. Opening kickoff is set for 2:15pm from Concordia Stadium. Links to coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
