Cougars and Warriors Play to Scoreless Draw

MILWAUKEE — The Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team hit the home stretch of the season on Saturday, taking on the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors. The defenses from both sides controlled the day, leading to a 0-0 draw.

The draw is the fifth of the season for Concordia, the most in a season in program history. Jamie Seibert gave CUC their first look of the day, ripping a shot on net in the fourth minute. The Cougars had a pair of corner kick opportunities in the 16th minute, but WLC kept the game scoreless. Both teams took five shots in the opening 45 minutes. CUC held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Concordia looked to get the scoring going early in the second half, ripping a pair of shots on net in the first few minutes. Kassie Silenzi made three saves in the final 45 minutes. The senior totaled five on the day. Despite a couple of late runs by both sides the game would end scoreless.

The Cougars will now prepare for their second to last home match of the season which comes this Wednesday against Illinois Tech. Opening kickoff is set for 2:00pm from River Forest. Links to coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
