MILWAUKEE, WIS. — With two teams battling for a win in order to keep their conference playoff dreams alive, the Concordia University Chicago Cougars traveled to Milwaukee to take on the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors, resulting in a 1-0 loss.

In a physical first half, the Cougars came out showing dominance early. Holding the ball in their offensive end, they recorded four shots on goal while the Warriors recorded none. The overall intensity from the Cougar offense combined with a strong line of Cougar defense kept them in control of the first half.
Defending their home field, the Warriors came out in the second half with vengeance. While Pasut didn't have much action in the goal in the first half while the Cougars defense held strong, he found himself increasingly busy as the Warriors continued to attack. The Warriors grabbed five of their six shots in the second half while the Cougars only took four of their ten in that same time frame. Stepping up their offensive attack, they put up three shots on goal while holding the Cougars to one. As the narrative from the first half slowly began to shift, the Warriors capitalized on their momentum and were able to put the ball in the back of the net.
The Cougars continued to paw to try to even the score back up, and a rocket shot from Gonzalez to the top left corner in the 86th minute seemed like the perfect opportunity, but he couldn't quite sneak it in.
The Cougars closed this match with the loss as their record now sits at 2-9-2 overall and 1-6-2 in the NACC. They'll be back in action on Wednesday as they head over to the South side to take on IIT at 7:00 pm. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
