Despite continued strong showings from key players, the Concordia University Chicago men's soccer team fell 3-1 to the Aurora University Spartans (3-1) under the lights of Spartan Athletic Park on Wednesday night.

Freshman midfielder
Oscar Montejano (Zion, Ill.) further cemented himself as an indispensable player for the Cougars with his first collegiate goal. He converted from the penalty spot after a foul by Aurora's Justin Rutherford in the box to tie the game at one goal apiece in the 37th minute. Montejano took five total shots in the game, with three on target.

The Cougars looked to secured a level score line at the half, but Aurora retook the lead in the 45th minute to grab the edge at the break. They sealed the win on an impressive 30-yard, curling strike by Enrique Gonzalez in the 66th minute to finish off the night's scoring.
Â
Sophomore goalkeeper
Nicholas Pasut (New Boston, Mich.) made eight saves, including a highlight-worthy double save early in the second half that maintained a one-goal margin at the time. After an initial stop, Pasut dove in front of a follow-up effort and made a second save with his head while lying on the ground.

The Cougars have the weekend off and are back in action Wednesday, April 7, at Concordia Stadium to face Benedictine University. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
