Facing their toughest test yet this year, the Concordia University Chicago women's lacrosse team (5-0) maintained their perfect start to the season with a 10-6 victory over the Loras College Duhawks (2-2) on a windy Thursday afternoon in River Forest.

The Cougars extended their winning streak over three seasons to 13 games, along with securing their third straight victory against Loras. Concordia led 7-2 at halftime and weathered a strong start to the second frame from the Duhawks, sealing the game with a couple of late strikes.

Brynn Beetow (Buffalo N.Y.) matched a personal best with three goals in a game. Senior midfielder
Elizabeth Cyrwus (Chicago, Ill.), sophomore attacker
Nina Naes (St. Louis, Mo.) and junior midfielder
Emily Cyrwus (Chicago, Ill.) all added two goals each. Sophomore attacker
Rylee Orenstein (Walnut Creek, Calif.) rounded out the scoring for CUC with one goal.

Ryan McGee (Chicago, Ill.) posted a career-high 13 saves. This is the first time this season she made more than 10 in a game thanks to the strong defense in front of her.
