In their second match of the 2021 spring season, the Concordia University Chicago men's soccer team (0-2) saw a strong first half unfortunately end in a second defeat. On Wednesday afternoon, they lost 3-1 to the Benedictine University Eagles (1-0) in Lisle, Ill.

After the Eagles opened the scoring in the 23rd minutes, the Cougars equalized 16 minutes later with their first goal of the season. Junior forward Ryan Kulhman (Darien, Ill.) scored a goal off a pass from sophomore midfielder
Oscar Montejano (Zion, Ill.) for his first goal of the season.

Nicholas Pasut (New Boston, Mich.) made four saves in the first half, which ended 1-1. Benedictine retook the lead in the 51st minute and then put the game away with a third goal in 70th in what was their first match of the season.

Julian Granzetto (Evanston, Ill.) took three shots each, while Kuhlman grabbed one of the team's four shots on goal.

The Cougars will play on the road for the third Wednesday in a row next week when they face Rockford University. The team's first game back home in River Forest is Sunday, March 28 against Dominican.
