Rockford, Ill. --- Coming from behind to earn a hard-fought three points, the Concordia University Chicago men's soccer team found a way to take town the Rockford University Regents by a 2-1 score in overtime on Tuesday night. The Cougars (4-4-2, 2-2-2 NACC) netted goals in the 87th and 91st minutes to extend their unbeaten streak to four matches against Rockford (5-6-0, 3-3-0 NACC). 
The match was forged in the middle of the field for the early part of the first half. CUC got their first shot on net in the 34th minute when Caleb Price's shot was saved by Rockford keeper Austin Montejano. The Cougar backline held strong throughout the opening 45 minutes, allowing just two shots, neither of which were on net. 
CUC and Rockford continued the defensive battle throughout the early part of the second half. The Regents broke the scoreless tie in the 74th minute. Miguel Gallardo finished off a ball that was fed into the box by Amador Lorenzo to give the Regents a 1-0 lead.
The Cougars finally were able to break through the Regent backline for the equalizer in the 87th minute. Dominick Christiansen chipped a ball into the box and Ryan Kuhlman won a race to the ball with the Regent keeper to tap the ball in for his first goal of the season.
Just 53 seconds into the first overtime period the Cougars netted the game-winning goal. Austin Montejano passed the ball to Devin Madson just outside the top of the box. From there, Madson used his right foot to send a scorching shot inside the right post for the game-winner. The goal was the first of the season for Madson.
Nicholas Pasut and 
Joseph Perez combined to allow just the one Rockford goal in just over 90 minutes of play. Pasut made three saves on the night.
