RIVER FOREST, Ill. – After picking up a gritty win on Thursday night over Lakeland, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball program returns to action for their third game this week against the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks.

Series History: Despite being just 11 miles apart, the Cougars and Scarlet Hawks have met just three times since the 2000-2001 season. CUC is 2-1 against the IIT. CUC is 0-1 on the road in the series. CUC won last season's matchup inside Geiseman by a 64-44 final score. CUC forced 34 IIT turnovers in the game which resulted in 36 points.
About the Cougars: The Cougars picked up a gritty 66-58 win over Lakeland University for their first home win of the season on Thursday night. Senior
Annika Rae scored 13 second half points as the Cougars held on for the win. With 19 more points on 7-15 shooting Thursday, freshman
Tara Hastings has now scored in double figures in five straight games. She is shooting 57.6 percent (34-59) from the floor and has knocked down 14 threes during that span. On the season she is averaging 15.3 points per game which is fourth in the NACC. Hastings ranks 15
th among all NCAA III freshman in points per game this season.
Charisma Robinson ranks second in the conference in steals with 38 on the season. As a team CUC ranks first in the NACC and 33
rd nationally in turnovers forced. With her four rebounds on Thursday night senior
Crystal Corr became the fourth player in program history to reach 600 in her career.
About the Scarlet Hawks: The Scarlet Hawks come into Saturday 0-13 overall and 0-8 in the NACC. Most recently they lost on the road to Marian by a 78-48 final score. Junior Shannon O'Donnell leads the team with a 15.1 points per game average this season. O'Donnell does it all for IIT, she also leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game. As a team IIT is shooting 28.7 percent from the floor this season and is averaging 43.8 points per game.
Up Next: The Cougars will have one final road game before a long home stretch. They will head to Milwaukee to take on Alverno College on Wednesday night. Opening tip is set for 7:00pm.
