Cougars Head North For Showdown With CUW

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Heading back on the road once again, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball team will head north to take on another rival in Concordia University Wisconsin. This will be the eighth true road game of the season for CUC compared to just two home games.

Series History—The Cougars are 6-22 against CUW since the 2007 season. CUC has had more success however inside Buuck Fieldhouse, picking up four wins. CUW has won the last four games in the series. CUC's last win came inside of Buuck Fieldhouse back in 2018 when the Cougars won the opening game of CIT that year.
 
About the Cougars: The Cougars come into the matchup with the Falcons 2-9 overall and 1-6 in the NACC. CUC has lost their last three, including a 74-63 game to Dominican on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Tara Hastings has been the top player this season for CUC. She ranks third in the NACC in scoring (15.0) and is the top scoring freshman in the conference. Additionally she ranks fifth in the NACC with a 46.5 field goal percentage. Charisma Robinson has come on as of late for CUC as well. She ranks fourth in the NACC with 31 steals on the year. Robinson and Hastings rank third and fifth respectively in the NACC in steals per game as well. Senior Crystal Corr is closing in on a milestone in her final year in the maroon and gold. She is just five rebounds shy of 600 for her career entering Tuesday night. If she is able to reach that mark, she would be just the fourth in program history. The Cougars lead the conference as a team in turnovers forced and steals per game (13.3). Annika Rae had a big game for CUC against Dominican. The senior matched a career high with 14 points against Dominican. She also pulled down seven rebounds in the game as well. Notables
 
About the Falcons: The Concordia Wisconsin Falcons come into Tuesday night 6-6 overall and 5-3 in the NACC. They are 2-3 at home and have won their last three. Most recently they defeated Marian by a final score of 79-49 on Saturday afternoon. Junior guard Emily Hafemann leads the team offensively. She averages 13.2 points per game this season and ranks fifth in the NACC with a 48.3 shooting percent from the field. CUW takes care of the basketball well. They rank second in the NACC and 22nd in the nation in fewest turnovers. They also have the second highest assists to turnover ratio in the NACC. They shoot the three well as a team. They are second in the conference, knocking down 34 percent of their shots from behind the arc.
 
Up Next: The Cougars return to Geiseman Gymnasium for the second of their three games this week. They will welcome Lakeland University to River Forest on Thursday night for a 7:00pm tip for their final home game before CIT. CUC will then head on the road on Saturday for a 4:15 tip on the south side against Illinois Tech.
