Cecilia Kochanek. Although the Cougars tied up the match with nearly 35 minutes to go, Lake Forest would score once more to run away with the 2-1 victory.Â
Scouting the Scots... Monmouth is off to a 1-0-1 start this season, including a commanding 5-0 win over fellow NACC opponent, Rockford University, and a double overtime 1-1 draw against Central College. Offensively, six different Scots have tallied one goal this year, while Jacie Reis is the only one with both a goal and an assist. In net, Kensey Arlt has seen 155 minutes of action with five saves and just one goal allowed. Monmouth and CUC last battled in 2018, where the Scots went away with a 6-2 victory.Â
Twice is Nice... Juniors
Esmeralda Torres and
Samantha Goodlett have begun the 2019 campaign as Concordia's leading scorers. With two goals each, both Torres and Goodlett tallied their goals in back-to-back contests. While Torres netted goals against Webster and Greenville, Goodlett also scored against the Panthers and then again on Monday against Lake Forest.Â
Inside the Posts... The freshmen duo of
Kassie Silenzi and
Aleksia Vranjes have held down the net for CUC early on this season. With 131 and 159 minutes in net, respectively, Silenzi and Vranjes have combined for 10 saves and a .556 save percentage. In the draw against Greenville on Saturday, Silenzi had a stellar second half in goal as she stopped four shots in 65 minutes to help the Cougars earn their first result of the season.
