INDIANOLA, IOWA--  Playing the back end of a back-to-back weekend in Iowa, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Soccer team took to the field today against Simpson College. The Cougars played tough all day long, out shooting Simpson 10-6, but the Storm were able to find the back of the net three times in route to a 3-0 win over the Cougars.
 
CUC got their first look on net in the fourth minute, but a Brianna Welch shot went wide left. The Storm broke the 0-0 tie with a goal in the 16^th minute. Cami Schmalz was able to find the back of the net in the box off a CUC defender.
 
Simpson doubled their lead in the 33^rd minute. This time it was Miki Schmidt with the header off the corner kick to make it 2-0.
 
Samantha Goodlett got two shots on target in the first ten minutes of the second half, but they were both saved.
 
Simpson made it 3-0 on a through ball in the 55^th minute that Cami Schmalz was able to put into the back of the net.
 
Welch put two more shots on net in the 60^th minute, but Storm goalie Rachel Neumann was up to the challenge.
 
The Cougars will close out the non-conference portion of their schedule on Saturday afternoon when they head on the road to take on Alma University.
