Alma, MI- Concordia University Chicago (0-6-1) traveled to Michigan to take on Alma College (4-2-1). The two teams have a brief history facing each other that started and ended with this match. Alma would keep a steady lead throughout the game and take home a 2-1 win in the first matchup between the schools.
 
Inside the Box Score:

• CUC out-shot Alma 19-12 and 11-3 in the second half
• Both teams combined for 16 fouls, setting the tone for a chippy game.

 
The first half started off as a defensive battle. No scores were made for the first forty minutes and some change. Finally Alma got into the scoring column in the 42^ndminute, right before the halftime break. That concluded the scoring for the first half and Alma would go into halftime up 1-0.
 
In the final half of play, Alma would score again in the 69^thminute to take a late 2-0 lead. CUC was aware they needed to kick it into gear, and Welch would score with twelve minutes left to shrink the deficit to 2-1. It was too little too late for the Cougars though, and they would be handed their sixth loss of the early season.
 
Concordia-Chicago will look to bounce back on September 25^th at home against Aurora University. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
