Dutch Down Cougars

Pella, IA- Concordia University Chicago (0-4-1) traveled to the Great Plains to face off against Central College (4-2-1). Scoring started early for the Dutch and they did not look back. Two first half goals, and three second half goals gave Central College a controlling lead and, in the end, a 5-0 victory.
 
Inside the Box Score:

Central College jumped off to an early 1-0 lead after a goal in the eighth minute of play. The goal was Ceora LeClaire's first of the season and came off an assist from two of her teammates. Scoring did not end there for the first half. The Dutch would beat the goalkeeper in the 29thminute to extend their lead to 2-0 going into intermission.
 
In the second half CUC needed to find an answer and claw back into contention. Another early-half goal widened the lead for Central College. Concordia-Chicago would end up playing hard-nosed defense until the 85thminute. The fourth and fifth goals for Central would be scored before the final buzzer sounded and would cap off a 5-0 home victory.
 
Concordia-Chicago looks to rebound on Sunday in Indianola, Iowa, against Simpson College. Gametime is set for 2:00 p.m.
