RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Looking to get back to their winning ways, the Concordia University Chicago Softball team hits the field for a four game weekend. They will open the weekend against Edgewood College before heading to Rockford on Sunday afternoon.
Series History: The Cougars and Eagles have met 24 times since the 2007 season. CUC owns a 15-9 record over Edgewood during that span. The Cougars own an 11-2 home record over Edgewood and have won the last nine in the series. CUC swept the series by scores of 10-3 and 8-3 last season in River Forest.

Nia DeGeorge all homered on the day. CUC holds a 19-5 record against Rockford since the 2007 season. The Cougars have won the last 17 games including both games last year by scores of 14-3 and 11-3. CUC has outscored Rockford 181-67 in the series.
About the Cougars: The Concordia Chicago Cougars come into the weekend 12-8 overall and 4-4 in the NACC. The Cougars swept the Benedictine Eagles for the first time in program history last Saturday, but the Cougars then dropped a pair of games to Aurora on Monday night. Balkema leads the team offensively on the season with 23 hits, 13 runs scored and five homers. She launched her fifth homer of the season on Monday night against Aurora over the left field fence.
Sydney Paulauskis-Lauher has been a big bat for CUC as well, with a .360 average on the year. As a team CUC is hitting .280 on the season. Inside the circle
Marita Van Dyke leads the team with a 1.83 ERA on the season. She has a 5-2 record, five complete games and 28 strikeouts in 49.2 innings of work. Opponents are batting just .221 against her on the season. As a team CUC has a 2.90 ERA and opponents are batting just .271.
About the Eagles: The Edgewood College Eagles come into the weekend 6-14 overall and 0-8 in NACC play. They have dropped their last four including a double header to Wisconsin Lutheran by scores of 12-0 and 8-0. Sabrina Maicke leads the team offensively with a .367 average on the season. She also leads the team with 15 runs scored. Laurissa Belott is not far behind with a .365 average on the season with three stolen bases. As a team Edgewood is hitting .309 on the season. Inside the circle Maddy Coppens leads the team with a 3.85 ERA on the season. She has a 4-10 record on the season. As a team Edgewood has a 4.59 ERA and opponents are hitting .343 against them.
About the Regents: The Rockford University Regents enter the weekend 12-14 overall and 2-6 in NACC play. They have dropped their last four including a pair of games to Marian by scores of 4-1 and 10-0. Annaka Bartz leads the team offensively with a .390 average on the season. She also has two homers and 11 stolen bases. Emily Cox is close behind with a .388 average on the season. She is second on the team with 13 driven in. As a team Rockford is hitting .258 on the season. Inside the circle Rylee Klema leads the team with a 3.68 ERA on the season. She has thrown 17 complete games and struck out 75 in 133 innings of work. As a team Rockford has a 4.17 ERA on the season and opponents are hitting .324 against them.
Up Next: The Cougars will begin a busy week on the road Tuesday night at North Park University. Opening pitch is set for 4:00pm. They then will return home for a rivalry matchup with Dominican on Thursday afternoon beginning at 1:00pm.
