RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Looking to defeat the Stars for the first time since 2016, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars traveled down Division Street to Dominican University this afternoon. Despite a hard-fought 90-minute match, the Stars came out on top with the 4-0 shutout win.Â
Dominican, who remains undefeated in conference play and atop the NACC standings, came out hot this afternoon, taking less than five minutes to put their first goal on the board. With a 1-0 lead, the NACC's leading scorer Regan Cox got into the mix too and scored the Stars' second goal of the day. Closing out the first half, Dominican's Hannah DiSilverio earned a near breakaway chance and played the ball around CUC's keeper to find the back of the net and give the Stars a 3-0 advantage.Â
Opening up the second half, the Cougars rattled off six shots but only found four on net. While Dominican stopped all of CUC's scoring chances, they tacked on one more goal of their own and walked away with the 4-0 conference win.
Concordia-Chicago will continue its playoff hunt on the road for the rest of the season, picking things back up this Saturday afternoon at Edgewood College.Â
