Lisle, Ill.- Concordia University Chicago (1-8-2; 1-2-1 NACC) traveled to take on Benedictine University (3-4-1; 2-0 NACC). In the first half the Eagles would sneak one past the CUC goalkeeper to take a 1-0 lead, and after a hard-nosed defensive effort, BenU would steal one away from the Cougars with a final score of 1-0.
Inside the Box Score:
- Only 20 shots combined for both teams on the night (CUC-8, BenU-12)
- Although winning in saves (4-3) the Cougars gave up the only goal of the game
- Concordia struggled to get shots in the first half, only registering one.
Concordia-Chicago struggled to get into an offensive flow early. Throughout the whole first half they only registered one shot but had to face six shots on the defensive end.
Aleksia Vranjes recorded three saves in the half but allowed one goal. BenU went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead.
Moving into the second half the Cougars were chasing one goal. They would fail to find the back of the net. Concordia-Chicago managed to get seven shots off, which was one more than the Eagles offense. Seven shots were not enough for the CUC attack and they would eventually fall 1-0.
