River Forest, Ill.- Concordia University Chicago (3-8-2; 3-2-1 NACC) played host to Marian University (5-7; 3-3 NACC) in their seventh conference matchup of the season. For the Cougars, the first half was an offensive affair and the second half was a defensive one. After one half CUC led 2-0 and would hold onto that lead for the second half, winning 2-0.
Inside the Box Score:
- Concordia-Chicago would take two shots on goal in the first half, making both of them.
- Although the Sabres outshot the Cougars 6-5, they still came up empty in the score column.
- Aleksia Vranjes completed her shutout with six saves in 90 minutes of playing time.
It did not take long for the Cougars to get comfortable on their home field. In the 13

Cecilia Kochanek opened up the scoring for CUC. Assisted by
Esmeralda Torres, Kochanek's score would soar into the top right corner of the goal and give Concordia-Chicago a 1-0 lead. First half scoring would not be done yet. With ten minutes until halftime,
Sara Browne would receive a pass off of
Brianna Welch's free kick and capitalize for the second goal of the half. Browne's goal would be the last until the break, giving CUC a strong 2-0 lead.
Moving into the second half the Cougars aimed to hold onto a two-goal lead for 45 minutes. They would do just that in large part to a steady defensive performance. After holding the Sabres to two scoreless halves, CUC would walk away with a 2-0 win.
