LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Concordia-Chicago women's soccer team (0-3) battled neck and neck with Lake Forest College (3-1) this afternoon, until a late goal lifted the Foresters to victory.

The Cougars fended off its in-state foe for the entire first half. During the first 45 minutes of play, the Foresters took just three shots.

CUC and Lake Forest continued to be at a stalemate for much of the second half. But finally, at the 82:51 mark, Lake Forest's Morgan Henrichs broke through off an assist from Hiwa Brown and gave the Foresters the 1-0 lead. With just seven minutes to go in regulation, the Cougars couldn't net the ball and Henrichs' goal would prove to be enough to give Lake Forest the victory.

Lake Forest out shot the Cougars 14-5. Senior keeper Madeline Kroll had eight saves.

Concordia-Chicago returns to action tomorrow evening for their home opener at 5 p.m. at Concordia Stadium against Alma College.
