LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Concordia-Chicago women's soccer team (0-3) battled neck and neck with Lake Forest College (3-1) this afternoon, until a late goal lifted the Foresters to victory.
The Cougars fended off its in-state foe for the entire first half. During the first 45 minutes of play, the Foresters took just three shots.
CUC and Lake Forest continued to be at a stalemate for much of the second half. But finally, at the 82:51 mark, Lake Forest's Morgan Henrichs broke through off an assist from Hiwa Brown and gave the Foresters the 1-0 lead. With just seven minutes to go in regulation, the Cougars couldn't net the ball and Henrichs' goal would prove to be enough to give Lake Forest the victory.

Concordia-Chicago returns to action tomorrow evening for their home opener at 5 p.m. at Concordia Stadium against Alma College.Â
