FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Concordia-Chicago men's soccer team ruined Marian University's perfect 3-0 record in front of its home crowd today, with a 1-0 shutout win.
CUC out shot the Sabres 12-10 over the course of the game.Â
Both teams struggled to connect offensively, as the lone goal of the game would come at the 16:47 mark when freshman
Ryan Kuhlman was tripped in the box and awarded a penalty kick. The Illinois native would capitalize on the opportunity and score his sixth goal of the season to give the Cougars the only goal needed to earn the victory.
With the win, CUC improves its conference record to 2-2 and goalkeeper
Jose Retana has earned his second shut out and win of the season.
The Cougars return to action next week when they visit Illinois Tech. on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Game time is set to begin at 7 p.m.
