RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Concordia-Chicago (2-4; 1-2 NACC) took on Rockford University (5-4-1; 1-2 NACC) this evening.

CUC looked tough for the first 50 minutes, but after a goal by the Regents, Concordia-Chicago could not get back on their feet and ended up dropping the match just 1-0. 

From the beginning, offense was dismal for both teams. A sequence around the 23rd minute sparked some offensive play when Gerardo Medina sent a header off the crossbar, followed by Rockford answering back with a breakaway shot that was deflected by goalie Jose Retana. CUC would hold strong after a couple of close calls and go into halftime tied 0-0. 

Concordia-Chicago would continue their defensive effort until the 58th minute, when the Regents beat three defenders and scored the first goal of the match. The Cougars would not be able to get past the stingy Rockford defense and the game would end at 1-0 in favor of the Regents.

Concordia-Chicago will look to bounce back on Saturday, Sept. 29 in Fond Du Lac against Marian University. Game-time is set for 1:30 p.m.
