Cougars Offense Stifled In Loss To Augsburg

Minneapolis, Minn.- Concordia Chicago came into tonight looking to get back into the win column and get back into the conference race.  After a slow start, Augsburg started to click on all cylinders to take a seven goal lead into halftime.  The second half was too much of a deficit to overcome as Augsburg won 14-2.

Sydney Fuller and Margaret Doane led the Cougars with a goal each.

The game started off slow for both teams as the team defense was shining.  Krystal Phillips was making some spectacular saves to keep the Cougars in the game.   Augsburg finally got past the Cougars defense they got on the board seven minutes into the game.  Augsburg then found their rhythm on offense and scored eight straight goals.  Concordia Chicago was able to get one back late in the half when Fuller put one in the back of the net to cut the Augsburg lead to 8-1 heading into halftime.

The second half was too much for the Cougars to come back from.  Augsburg continued to press on the offensive end and pulled away to double digits.  Concordia Chicago did get one back from Doane, but it proved to be not enough as Augsburg went on to win by the final score of 14-2.

Concordia-Chicago (2-8, 1-4 MWLC) return to action tomorrow morning when they take on Hamline University.  Opening draw is set for 9:30am.
