River Forest, Ill. – After enjoying a break for Christmas, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball team returns to the floor tomorrow afternoon for the final game of 2018. Their opponent will be an NACC foe in the Rockford Regents.
Series History: The Cougars and Regents have met 21 times since 2007, with CUC holding a 14-7 edge during that span. CUC is also 8-2 at home. Concordia has won the last eight matchups, sweeping the season series last season by scores of 92-61 and 105-73. The 105 points were the most ever scored in program history.
About the Cougars: The matchup with the Regents will be the first game action for CUC since December 15
th against Benedictine. CUC has also been away from Geiseman Gymnasium since they took on Edgewood on December 1
st.
Sam Bloom leads the Cougar offense with a 10.0 points per game average.
Crystal Corr continues to crash the boards for CUC. The junior ranks seventh in the NACC with a 7.7 rebounds per game average.
About the Regents: The Rockford University Regents come into Saturday's action 1-8 overall and 1-4 in the NACC. The contest with CUC will also be the first game action in two weeks, with their last contest being a 97-51 loss to Edgewood at home. Junior Linzy Keller leads the Regent offense with a 14.7 points per game average which ranks sixth in the NACC. Nicole Silvers is also strong offensively for Rockford. The senior is averaging 11.6 points per game this season.
Up Next: The Cougars will hit the road to begin 2019 when they head to Aurora on January 2
nd. They then will return to Geiseman Gymnasium on Saturday January 5
th when they host Division Street rival Dominican.
