Cougars Look To Sail Past Vikings Tomorrow

River Forest, Ill. – After a busy three game opening week, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Basketball team concludes their season opening four game road trip with a non-conference matchup Tuesday night at North Park.

Series Stack-up: The Cougars and Vikings do not have much recent history, with their last contest coming almost ten years ago to the date, as they played a neutral site game in Lake Forest. CUC defeated North Park by a 53-50 final score.

A Blooming Start: Sophomore and CUC newcomer Sam Bloom was impressive through her first three games of the season. Her 14 points per game ranks first on the team and tenth in the NACC. She is also averaging 2.7 steals per game which ranks seventh in the conference.

All over the Corr(t): Junior Crystal Corr has picked up right where she left off last season. Corr set a new career best with 15 rebounds against Spalding on Friday night. She currently is averaging 8.0 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per contest. Additionally, through three games she is tops in the NACC in blocks per game, averaging three per contest.

Another strong start: Junior Michaela Thornton has been an important contributor for the Cougars to open the season. She is averaging eight points per game which is tied for second on the team. She is also averaging 3.7 steals per game which ranks fourth in the NACC.

The Cougars will return to River Forest for their first home game of the season on Saturday afternoon when they take on Marian University in NACC play.
