MEQUON, Wis. -- Though
Zachary Adamec and
Jose Retana combined for 11 saves against NACC rival, Concordia Wisconsin, the Cougars dropped the contest by its largest margin of the season, 6-0.
The Falcons' offense came out aggressive, early and often, as CUW's Simon Da-Silva scored in the 13th second of the match to give his squad the early 1-0 advantage. Just 15 minutes later, a cross into the right side of the box would allow Falcon Antonio Gurrola-Flor the chance to net his first goal of the season and double CUC's deficit. Getting just one shot off in the first half, the Cougars headed into the halftime break trailing by two.
Over the course of the final 45 minutes, the Falcons would lay on four more goals to solidify its commanding 6-0 shut out victory. Three different CUW players would score, as Da-Silva notched his second of the night and Dagoberto Diaz would score two goals, in the 54th and 59th minutes, respectively.
On tap for the Cougars, the team will host its last home match of the year next Wednesday at 2 p.m. before heading to Evanston, Ill. on Friday night to face Northwestern in an under the lights game.
