MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Concordia-Chicago men's soccer team took on first place MSOE in an under the lights match up this evening, eventually falling 4-1.
The No. 10 regionally ranked Raiders were quick to show off their offensive strength, scoring their first goal of the evening less than six minutes into the match. MSOE would strike again in the 29th minute of play, taking an early 2-0 hold over the Cougars.
Despite the two-goal deficit, freshman
Ryan Kuhlman responded just two minutes later and netted his seventh goal of the season to cut the Raider lead in half. Off a long throw in from
Daniel St. Preux, Kuhlman's goal kept the Cougars within one with 15 minutes to go in the first half. St. Preux's assist was the first point of his career.
The Raiders continued to keep the pressure on CUC and scored their third goal of the night at the 37:20 mark to take a 3-1 advantage heading into halftime.
Senior keeper
Zachary Adamec entered the net for Concordia-Chicago in the second half, producing 35 minutes of shut out play. With just 10 minutes to go in the match, MSOE's Lucas D'Amato dove for a header that hit the cross bar and found its way to the back of the net. D'Amato's goal would solidify the Raiders' 4-1 victory.
CUC will return to the pitch this weekend, on the road, taking on Wisconsin Lutheran College at 3:30 p.m.
