Sept. 16, 2017 - Looking to get things rolling after two good showings last weekend, the Concordia University Chicago Men's Soccer team took to the pitch on a warm humid afternoon against the Illinois College Blue Boys. Unfortunately for the Cougars, Illinois College's attack was as hot as the turf this afternoon leading to 7-0 win over the Cougars.
 
The Blue Boys jumped out early with two goals in the first five minutes. The Cougar defense then slowed them down until the 34^th minute when a Thomas Saitta goal made it 3-0 Illinois College. Unfortunately for CUC, the goals continued to come for Illinois College, pushing the score to the final at 7-0.
 
CUC managed to get six shots off in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net.
 
The Cougars now will get ready for NACC play when they head to Benedictine on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Eagles. Opening kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
