Eagles Down Cougar Men In NACC Opener

Lisle, Ill.- After a tough non-conference schedule, the Concordia University Chicago Cougar Men's Soccer team took to the blistering turf at Benedictine this afternoon. With the temperature in the mid 90's the two teams took to the pitch looking to get off on the right foot to begin Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play. Unfortunately for CUC the defending NACC champion Eagles were able to find the back of the net three times in the first half and once in the second half to spoil the conference opener by a final score of 4-0.

The Eagles wasted no time getting their title defense underway against CUC. They scored their first goal less than 15 seconds in off the foot of Nick Kapetanos. Kapetanos later scored two more goals to complete the hat-trick in the first half.

Benedictine added one more in the second half to push the score to 4-0. Panagiotis Zervas and Jose Retana combined to make six saves in the match.

The Cougars (0-6, 0-1 NACC) will now prepare for game four of their season high five game road trip. They will head to Plymouth, Wis. To take on Lakeland University on Saturday with opening kick set for 2:00pm.
