Late Beloit Goals Costly For Cougar Men

Beloit, Wis. - After suffering a heartbreaking two overtime loss less than 24 hour prior, the Concordia University Chicago Men's Soccer team took to the pitch again this afternoon in sunny and breezy Beloit Wisconsin. The Cougars battled tough with Beloit, but two late goals would prevent CUC from their first result on the season.

Beloit struck first in the 18th minute on a Freddy Widmer goal. Widmer found the back of the net after the initial shot was blocked. CUC had a perfect opportunity in the 34th minute on a penalty kick to tie the match, but the shot was saved by Beloit goalie Alex Lyon.

The Cougars still found themselves trailing until the 78th minute when Ricardo Aragon found the back of the net for the second time of the season. Unfortunately for CUC, Beloit would be able to score in the 83rd and 84th minutes to stretch the lead to 3-1.

The Cougars (0-4) now will have a week to prepare before heading to Illinois College next Saturday for game two of their season high five game road swing.
