Cougars' Offense Stifled In Loss To Raiders

Milwaukee, Wis.- After picking up three critical points in Edgewood on Saturday night, the Concordia University Chicago Women's Soccer team took to the pitch tonight looking to continue their postseason push against the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Under the lights and with very cool fall like conditions, it was MSOE netting goals in the 19th and 87th minute to down the Cougars 2-0.

The Cougars created a couple of chances early for Sarah LaCost and Sydney Fuller, but they were turned away by the Raiders. MSOE found their chance to counter in the 19th minute. A diagonal ball into the box by Jeray Riffel was headed by Nora Adkins from 12 yards out and into the back of the net to give MSOE the early 1-0 lead.

Both teams created opportunities throughout the second half, but goals were hard to find for both sides in the cool windy conditions in Milwaukee. CUC came the closest to the equalizing goal when Samantha Goodlett's shot missed just wide left.

With the Cougars pressing to find the equalizing goal, MSOE was able to push forward themselves for a late insurance goal on a curling shot by Jeray Riffel into the back of the net to double the lead.

Allyson Krajnak finished the night with seven saves.

The Cougars (4-8-2; 3-3 NACC) will return home to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday. The game will also be senior day for the Cougars. Opening kickoff is set for 3:15pm.
