Cougars' Strong Effort Falls Just Short Against MSOE

River Forest, Ill- The Concordia-Chicago Men's Soccer team squared up against the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders in a NACC conference match this Wednesday. CUC came into the match looking to even their record in conference play. A scoreless first half kept the game tied deep into the match, but MSOE was able to break through in the 79th minute to break the tie. The Raiders added one more on late making it 2-0 MSOE despite a strong team effort by CUC.

The weather was not ideal during this match. Wet, rainy, and cold, are all words to describe the elements that the Cougars had to battle through. Neither team could find their footing and the score remained at zeroes for the whole first half of play. The Cougars' scoring opportunities were scarce but one came in the twenty-second minute with a shot by Ricardo Aragon.

Moving through the second half it was much of the same until eleven minutes left in the match when MSOE found a way past Roberto Aragon. The goal was scored on a header by Zach Hanson, and the assist coming from Braden Andryk.

Once the first goal snuck through, it did not take MSOE long to find the back of the net again. In the eighty-first minute Peyton Tebon scored off an assist by Sean Tabbert after a scramble near the goal making it 2-0 with time slowly running out.  As time expired the score ended at 2-0 in favor of MSOE.

CUC falls to 2-10 overall and 2-4 in conference. They look to bounce back this Saturday against Wisconsin Lutheran College. The match will be held at 12:30 p.m. at home. This match will also be senior day for the Cougars, with the ceremony for the six seniors set for halftime.
