March 23, 2016 -Â The Concordia-Chicago women's lacrosse team ran up against a hot University of Dubuque team today.. The Spartans scored early to take control of the game and made it stand up in a 17-0 defeat of the Cougars on a wet afternoon in Iowa.
Dubuque was led by Kelly Wetherald who scored five goals for the third consecutive game. Bridget Schiremrs scored in the first 22 seconds, and the home team increased the lead to 3-0 after the first five minutes. The Spartans outshot the Cougars 24-4 for the half with UD goalie Ambryn Dittmer making saves onÂ

The second half saw the home team with a 16-3 advantage in shots and a 5-0 edge in goals.Â
Melissa Franco (Wood Dale, IL/Fenton)Â was kept busy in goal, making six saves for the half and bringing her total to 13 for the game.
Concordia-Chicago (0-9) will return to action next WEdnesday, March 30 when they play at CArroll University in Waukesha, WI.
