Feb. 12, 2016 -Â The hearts of Concordia-Chicago softball fans will be fluttering on Valentine Day's morning. The Concordia-Chicago softball team will play its opening games on Feb. 14, the earliest start ever for a CUC spring team, when they travel to the Legacy Sports Center, a domed facility in Brighton, Michigan.Â
The Cougars will open up at 9 a.m. (Eastern time) Sunday when they take on Albion College, an NCAA Division III school from western Michigan. Following that game, the Cougars are back on the field at 11 a.m. to take on sister school (and host school) Concordia University Ann Arbor, an NAIA Division II opponent. Both games are expected to be video-streamed; see the "Live Game Coverage" tab on www.cougars.com for the link.
Concordia-Chicago is in its fourth season under head coachÂ
Sarah O'Malley-Fisher. Last year, the Cougars started the season 0-10 before gaining momentum and finishing the season 19-23. The Cougars finished 14-8 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play and made the conference tournament for the second time in the last three years.Â
