Cougar Men Fall Short Against Rival Falcons

October 22, 2016- The Concordia University Chicago men's soccer team traveled to rival Concordia-Wisconsin today in Mequon, Wisconsin.  The Cougars looked to rebound after a tough loss to Aurora this past Wednesday. The Cougars struggled to get anything going on the offensive attack, falling 6-0 to the Falcons.

In the first half, the Falcons controlled most of the play at the beginning of the match.  Falcons got on the board in the 14th minute when a CUC defender misplayed a ball left of the box, which left Colin Dibb alone with the Cougar goalkeeper and put the Falcons up 1-0.  Later in the first half, the Falcons made it a two goal game when they connected on a long pass down the right sideline, then a cross to the middle of the box to a sliding CUW Jordan Moehn for the goal.  The rest of the 1st half was a defensive battle with the Falcons taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

In the 2nd half, it was the Zach Adamec show as he made multiple saves to keep the Cougars in the match.  However, the Falcons did get to Adamec in the 67th minute when Ivan Fernandez beat him to the right.  In the 82nd minute, the Falcons Pat Martinez found a loose ball in the box and was able to make it a 4-0 game.  Falcons played a defensive match the rest of the way and were able to earn the clean sheet with a 6-0 result against Concordia-Chicago.

The Cougars (3-12, 1-8 NACC) will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on the MSOE Raiders on Wednesday, October 26th which will be the final game of the season.
