Oct. 12, 2016 -Â The momentum of the CUC women's three-game winning streak was brought to a screeching halt this evening in Bloomington, IL as the Illinois Wesleyan Titans blanked the Cougars 6-0.Â
The Titans, ranked #4 in the Central Region, came in with one of the stingiest defenses the Cougars have seen and, true to form, IWU allowed CUC practically nothing tonight. Concordia-Chicago managed just four shots over the 90 minutes, three of them on goal byÂ
Alisha Johnson, Kahla Walker andÂ
Natalie Weinhold.
Skyler Tomko scored twice for the Titans (7-4-2), opening the scoring in the 15th minute and then in the 54th minute to push the leafd to 3-0. Allison Seger added a goal and two assists for the home team.
Allyson Krajnak played the first 63 minutes in goal for CUC and faced 10 shots, making seven saves.Â
Maddie Kroll played the final 27 minutes and made one save among the four she faced.
The Cougars will return to action on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 when they host Alverno College in NACC play. Sunday will be Senior Day, and the team will honor a sizeable group at halftime of the game.
