Sept. 5, 2015 - Today the Concordia Cougars took to the road to start a back-to-back weekend with the first of the two matches being against Knox College. The Cougars lost the contest by a final tally of 8-1.
In a game that was dominated by the Prairie Fire, the Cougars battled tough in the first half. Knox would get the scoring started in the 10th minute of the match. A strike from Nathaniel Logie would give the home team the early lead. The Cougar defense would hold tough until the 31
st minute when they allowed the second goal of the match.Â
The Cougars' lone fireworks of the game took place in the 44
th minute. After a throw-in, the ball would be worked around by the Cougar attack, A good pass played forward by
Diego Diaz (Cicero, IL/Morton East)Â led
Fabian Robles (Cicero, IL/St. Joseph) into an open area to rip off a strike that went through the hands of the Knox goalie and cut the Cougar deficit in half at 2-1.
The second half would be owned by the home team, outscoring the Cougars 6-0 and leading to the final score of 8-1.
Concordia-Chicago will have to have a short memory as they play the second half of their back-to-back weekend Sunday at home against Millikin Univerrsity. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
